David Artis		 David Artis, Ph.D., 'Reaches Out' Beyond Academics As New Director of Academic Enrichment Programs.  Former director of Academic Services at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, will oversee a wide range of research-oriented academic preparation programs for more than 1,500 UCSD undergraduates in various fields of study. These programs are designed to encourage such students to pursue Ph.D.'s, M.D.'s and other advanced degrees in research.

Jacqueline Azize-Brewer

Jacqueline Azize-Brewer: New C.A.M.P. Coordinator Sees Position as Chance to Make a Difference - Jacqueline Azize-Brewer, Ph.D., whose participation in challenging scientific research projects, faculty interaction and classroom experiences as a transfer student at the University of California, San Diego led to her earning a doctorate in neurosciences at UCSD and to her desire to assist other students towards their research and academic goals, has been named coordinator of UCSD’s California Alliance for Minority Participation in Science, Engineering and Mathematics Program (CAMP).


Elizabeth Blocker		 Elizabeth Blocker, Administrative Assistance in Academic Enrichment Program since 1994.  Worked 14 years at the Radiobiology Division, Radiology Department prior to transferring to AEP.

Thomas Brown		 Thomas K. Brown, Ph.D., whose interests in research led him to earn post-baccalaureate degrees in both chemistry and anthropology, has been named the coordinator of UCSD’s Ronald E. McNair program for undergraduate research. The McNair program prepares students for graduate study in all academic fields.

Veronica Henson- Phillips		 Veronica Henson-Phillips named Coordinator of UCSD Faculty Mentor Program - Veronica Henson-Phillips, MFA, an academic advising specialist and professor of speech communication and theater has been appointed coordinator of the Faculty Mentor Program (FMP).  This position is significant to UCSD's mission of preparing more undergraduates for research opportunities with faculty members.

Adele Wilson

Adele Wilson: Named Coordinator of UCSD Program to Prepare Undergrads for Health and Medical Professions - Adele Savage Wilson, MA, a health and career guidance specialist, has been appointed coordinator of the Health and Medical Professionals Preparation Program (HMP³) at the University of California, San Diego. The position is significant to UCSD’s mission of preparing more undergraduates for health and medical professions.
