ELIGIBILITY

Thirty McNair scholars will be selected annually on a competitive basis. You are eligible to apply if you have at least a 3.0 grade point average and an interest in pursuing a Ph.D. In addition, you must be:

• a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident
• a junior or senior (all majors)

 EITHER:

• a first-generation college student who is low-income, OR
• a member of a group underrepresented in graduate study (African American, Alaskan Native, American Indian, Chicano, or Latino)
